hi there, 2months ago i started treatment(poz for 10 years) for hiv on 2 drugs DARUNAVIR boosted by NORVIR cd4 170 and vl 40.000 .after first month cd4 259 and vl 570 second month cd4 231 and vl undetectable..can you tell me how long before i see better improvement of my immune system? thank you .paul

Hi Paul I am curious that you would start on just 2 drugs, and really only one at an active dose. PI monotherapy, as it is known, is not recommended in any national guidelines and there are no published data on use of Darunavir in this way. Darunavir is not currently approved for initial use and the study that investigated it, 'Artemis', used Truvada as a backbone 'nuc' combination. I am thankful that your viral load has gone down so efficiently. Your CD4 will vary between samples but will keep rising for the next 5-6 years at least, as long as you viral load stays suppressed Best Wishes Dr Moyle
