Data on norma CD4 counts for people over 45 Jul 1, 2008 I realize that T counts, even in HIV neg persons, go down with age. Is there data that tells you where you should be at in terms of absolute numbers and percentages, more or less, when you are at around 45 if you are HIV neg? |

 CD4 counts vary with age although within adults that varition is modest. Recovery of lost CD4 cells is slower in older persons in whom the thymus gland is inactive (over 40s). A CD4 over 450/cmm or 30% is normal for adults. Values will vary between samples by 25% or more. I hope this helps regards Dr Moyle | ||||||||
